Welcome to my leather-crafting and mask-making blog!
I’m Jyn Donham, a self-taught artist and leatherworker. I’ve been making masks since 2008, and doing costumery since I was old enough to work a sewing machine.
I’m Atlantan by birth, Bostonian by education, and I’m fascinated by the cultures of the world. When I’m not making art, I’m a teacher, a researcher, and an incorrigible dabbler. I love mask making because it is art that invites others to become part of it.
I tend to think the world would be a better place if we could learn to be childlike without being childish, and to be serious without taking ourselves too seriously.
If you want to keep up with my mask-making shenanigans, feel free to subscribe to this blog via RSS feeds or Twitter. You can follow me on Facebook, Etsy or Deviantart as well.
If you want to learn about making leather masks, I’ve linked some resources here.
Happy Masquerading!
